What To Do When You Feel Fried and Overwhelmed
Burnout is not a sign that you are weak.
It is a signal that something in your system needs care.
Yesterday I snapped at Kara.
Not because she did anything wrong, but because I was stretched too thin.
House building. Teen boys. Client load. Half marathon training.
It all collided in one moment.
Five minutes later, I apologized.
Because I refuse to normalize burnout as a personality trait.
Here is how I am regulating and resetting today.
1. Put yourself to bed earlier than usual
A tired brain reacts instead of responds.
I curled up with a historical fiction audiobook and went to sleep at 9:30.
It was grounding and healing.
2. Practice conscious breathing
Meditation does not have to be long.
A few minutes of intentional breath can shift you from chaos to calm.
Monk mind over monkey mind.
3. Dump your mental load onto paper
When your mind is crowded, your emotions overflow.
A to do brain dump clears space and reduces overwhelm almost instantly.
4. Move your body to release tension
Twenty minutes is enough.
Movement helps your nervous system cycle out stress and reset your baseline.
5. Celebrate micro wins
Small wins rebuild momentum.
Writing this blog was my first one of the day.
When you feel fried, come back to yourself
You do not need perfection.
You need honesty, recovery, and kindness toward yourself.
Mistakes teach us.
Accountability grows us.
Heart keeps us going.
Sending you love if you need it today.
