Your Next Income Jump Isn’t in Your Visuals, It’s in Your Voice
A granny on the left.
A grandpa on the right.
Living in the heart of retirement land, I’ve learned one big thing: they observe more than they do.
New dog in the common area? They notice.
Wrong car in the parking spot? They’ll tell you right away with a sharp “Young lady!” (Which I’ll proudly accept at 46.)
Observation is everything. It’s the first step of writing. And writing is the creative skill most of us ignore but can’t afford to.
I write to you almost every day by turning what I notice, a moment, a struggle, a small story, into something useful.
My mentor once told me, “Great writing is just observation on paper.”
And I realized, I do that all the time.
I spot a tiny flower growing in a sidewalk crack.
I listen to my clients’ stories and turn them into lessons.
I write down quotes from people I admire and reshape them into content.
That’s what creatives do.
But here’s what most creatives don’t do: use writing to grow their business.
Photographers, interior designers, brand experts, artists — your visuals are powerful. But if you want to book more clients, charge more, and stay top of mind, you have to pair your visuals with your voice.
Not just captions.
Not just “About Me” pages.
But real, consistent writing to your audience: past clients, inquiries, and people who haven’t even discovered you yet.
How to Start Writing for Your Audience
Writing doesn’t have to be complicated. Here’s a simple structure you can follow every time:
Start with a hook. Grab attention fast.
Tell a story. Make it relatable and human.
Give a clear action step. Tell your audience what to do next.
End with a bow. Remind them why it matters.
You don’t need a huge email list.
You don’t need fancy tech.
You just need your observations and the courage to share them.
Because writing is not optional if you want $20K, $30K, or booked-out months.
It’s how people remember you.
It’s how you build trust.
And it’s how your dream clients find you and hire you.
