If Sales Feel Slow, Read This
The Problem: The Wrong Audience
When sales feel slow, it’s easy to think your price is the problem.
But what if it’s not?
What if you’re simply attracting the wrong people?
That’s what happened to me. I was calling in startups and small creative providers making less than $5k a month. They were passionate but not ready to invest in my services.
And one of my clients, Lisa, was right there too.
She said, “Ash, sales are so slow.”
So I asked her, “What’s the most common objection you’re hearing?”
She replied, “They say they can’t afford me.”
That’s when it clicked.
The Real Issue: Attraction
It wasn’t her pricing that was wrong.
It was her message.
When your marketing doesn’t speak to the right people, you attract clients who love your work but can’t pay your worth.
The Solution: The Attract Framework
Here’s what we built together.
Step 1: Define what problem you solve and who you solve it for.
Step 2: Look at your marketing. Is it speaking to your ideal clients or the wrong crowd?
Step 3: Keep it visible. Write your message on a Post-it and check it before every post, pitch, or promo.
Bonus Tip: Repetition builds recognition. Say your message often.
Lisa rewrote her hook to:
“I help service-based businesses making over $5k a month gain 5 hours a week.”
The Result: Aligned Clients
A week later, she met two perfect-fit clients at a networking event. Both could afford her services.
The shift? Instant and powerful.
So if you’ve been hearing “I can’t afford you,” it might be time to tighten your attract game.
Because when your message aligns, your ideal clients find you.
